Camping in the Black Forest: Kinzig Valley, Dreisamtal and Titisee
Three campsites lead to a farmhouse museum, Freiburg’s old town and a lake-and-forest walk.

The Black Forest offers very different days out. From the Kinzig Valley, you can visit the Vogtsbauernhof open-air museum. Kirchzarten is a good starting point for Freiburg’s old town, while Titisee lends itself to a walk along the lake. The three campsites lie in different parts of the region, so choose the base that fits your route.
Steinach: the Kinzig Valley and Vogtsbauernhof
Camping Kinzigtal sits on Steinach’s edge, beside the municipal outdoor pool. Its current operator website lists 135 pitches for caravans, motorhomes and tents.
For a cultural day, visit the Vogtsbauernhof open-air museum in Gutach. Its historic farmhouses show how people lived and worked in the Black Forest up to 600 years ago. The museum has its own railway stop, Gutach Freilichtmuseum; its arrival page explains connections from Offenburg and Hornberg. Check visitor information and train times before setting out. Schiltach offers another Kinzigtal outing: regional tourism highlights its historic centre and half-timbered houses.
