Along Slovenia’s Adriatic coast, harbour towns, salt pans and nature reserves each offer a different outing. Near Ankaran, Koper and the Škocjanski zatok wetland sit side by side. From Seča, Piran and the Sečovlje salt pans make separate trips. Belvedere Camp lies in Strunjan Landscape Park, near Izola’s old harbour.
Ankaran: Koper and Škocjanski zatok
Camping Adria Ankaran sits beside the sea, a short distance from Koper. Its pitches, glamping tents and mobile homes make it a useful base for combining time by the water with a visit to town. In Koper, the Praetorian Palace closes the south side of Tito Square. The palace dates to the 13th century. Its present appearance took shape in the mid-15th century, bringing late Gothic and Renaissance details together with Venetian Gothic.
