Trajan's Column is a Roman triumphal column in Rome, built in 113 AD to celebrate Emperor Trajan's conquest of Dacia (modern Romania). It was the first spiral column ever raised and stands about 39.9 meters high, constructed from 18 enormous blocks of Carrara marble.
