The Wiener Riesenrad (Vienna Giant Wheel) is a landmark Ferris wheel located in the Prater amusement park in Vienna's Leopoldstadt district. Built between 1896 and 1897 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Emperor Franz Joseph I's reign, it was one of the largest Ferris wheels in the world at its inauguration.
