Conwy Castle (Welsh: Castell Conwy) is a ruined medieval fortification in the town of Conwy on the coast of North Wales. Built by King Edward I during his conquest of Wales between 1283 and 1287, it was constructed together with the walled town as part of a major English colonial project, with combined construction costs of around £15,000.
