The Teatre-Museu Dalí in Figueres, opened in 1974, was conceived and designed by Salvador Dalí himself. Housed in the former municipal theatre at Plaça Gala i Salvador Dalí 5, 17600 Figueres, Girona, it holds the most extensive collection of his work — over 1,500 pieces across painting, drawing, sculpture, holograms, installations and more — and is often described as the world's largest surrealist object.
